After 15 years(!), veteran Nao Tokui, known for his releases on PROGRESSIVE FOrM, op.disc, and collaborations with the late Nujabes, is back with his first vinyl release on his new label, Surf on Entropy.

The EP features four tracks based on Tokui's expertise as an AI researcher, including AI rhythm generation (A1, A2) and micro-sampling also using AI (A1). Although, as Tokui says, "I want to be surprised by the computer," the tracks are full of surprising sequences and yet humane and organic grooves.

Nao Tokui is an artist/DJ and researcher, and the founder of Qosmo, an AI creative studio based in Japan. While pursuing his Ph.D. at The University of Tokyo, he released his first music album and other singles, including a 12-inch with Nujabes, a legendary Japanese hip-hop producer.
